Mental health problems can happen to any person regardless of age or circumstance.

The word Mental Health causes feelings of concern, fear and confusion for many, which contributes to how people communicate and interact with those who are affected by it.

Stigma and discrimination are still hurtful attitudes around mental illnesses as 1 in 5 children struggle with mental health daily. Unpredictable moods, anxiety, food disorders, autism, ADD, OCD and depression are just some of the labels associated with mental health.

“I AM ME” is a collection of paintings and drawings addressing children’s mental health. In these works, she portrays each youth through their unique quality. Each individual portrait is accompanied by symbols appropriated to their strength, culture and character.
