Build your art portfolio like a pro. In this class, you will develop drawing basics using graphite, charcoal, and pen and ink. From still life to portraits, and sketches each week, students will practice creating impressive pieces for your portfolio.

In this 2-day workshop applying the basic classical proportions and structure of the head and its features are taught to draw accurate portraits. Each day offers a full day of drawing from a life model with a step-by-step method in how to achieve likeness and create a good portraiture while the structure of individual features will be practiced. We’ll explore two different charcoal techniques on each day with handouts. (Draped models)

Learn the basics of acrylic painting in this beginner ‘course, designed to give students a basic knowledge of materials and methods. Through demonstrations and a series of exercises, students will paint a picture from start to finish, learn colour theory, and apply art principles towards their creations. Get hands-on with casts and photographs as you nail down head layout and facial feature placement. Use light logic to bring surface forms to life through a mix of lectures, demo drawings, and plenty of drawing time in class. Experiment with graphite and charcoal on different types of paper, to create three take home projects.
